In just one month since assuming office as the Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Olalekan Olu Akindipe (Mayor Akindipe) has proven that leadership anchored on vision, compassion, and accountability can create meaningful change in record time.
Today marks one month of transformational leadership, and across Ajeromi-Ifelodun, the people can already feel the difference. Mayor Akindipe’s administration has taken bold steps to advance the transformation strides of past administrations while restoring public confidence, deepening community progress, and charting a renewed course for inclusive development.
In the first 30 days of his administration, Mayor Akindipe has embarked on several strategic initiatives and people-centered interventions, including:
- Road Infrastructure Inspections and Development Tours – Personally visiting ongoing projects and identifying neglected communities to ensure that infrastructure renewal extends to every corner of Ajeromi-Ifelodun.
- Visits to Primary Health Centres (PHCs) – Reinforcing his commitment to accessible and quality healthcare for all, particularly at the grassroots level.
- Distribution of Free GCE Forms – Empowering indigent youths with educational opportunities, demonstrating his belief that education remains the strongest tool for community transformation.
- Revenue and Franchise Meetings – Engaging stakeholders to enhance internally generated revenue and position the local government for sustainable economic growth.
- Proposed Fencing of Okorogbo and Aiyetoro Primary Schools – Prioritizing the safety and conducive learning environment of schoolchildren within the local government area.
- Humanitarian Intervention and Compassionate Governance – A testament to his human touch, Mayor Akindipe rescued a destitute elderly man who had lived on the streets of Olodi since 1957. The Chairman personally covered his medical expenses until recovery, sponsored his journey back to Akwa Ibom to reunite with his family, and provided financial support to help him restart his life.

These actions reflect the core values of a listening leader — one whose administration is founded on service, compassion, progress, and inclusion.
Mayor Akindipe’s first month in office mirrors the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the THEMES+ Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, both of which emphasize good governance, economic renewal, and social welfare. The Chairman has customized these policies to meet the unique needs of Ajeromi-Ifelodun residents, ensuring that development truly begins at the grassroots.
Speaking on this milestone, Hon. Olalekan Olu Akindipe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to purposeful governance, stating:
“Leadership is about people, and every action of this administration will be guided by the principle of impact and inclusion.”
As Ajeromi-Ifelodun continues on this renewed path, the first 30 days of Mayor Akindipe’s leadership stand as a blueprint for responsive governance and community renewal.
This is just the beginning — the journey to transform Ajeromi-Ifelodun has taken off, and together, the people and their government will go farther.
Signed,
Daniel Sylva Daniel
